About
Welcome!
The Rock and Roll Report started off as a personal blog a couple of years ago but has since evolved into a place where a loosely drawn group of contributors have used the site to write about bands and artists, record labels and radio stations, blogs and magazines that they are passionate about and in their mind epitomize what rock and roll is all about.
With a fresh coat of virtual paint and some new contributors, The Rock and Roll Report is continuing its mission of searching out, all over the world those artists that create the kind of rock and roll we all deep down want to hear. While we don’t discriminate based on modes of distribution, it has become clear to us that for the most part, the major record labels are less interested in real rock and roll and more interested in feeding the lowest common musical denominator so we take our search elsewhere, to the hundreds of indie and DIY labels that were created by those still passionate about rock and roll. To say that these labels pump out great music is an understatement. Almost every one of these bands could find a place on commercial rock radio playlists if they were given the chance but sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
The Rock and Roll Report is here to showcase these artists. We do it on this very site. I do it on Rock and Roll Report Radio heard monthly on the Drastic Plastic Program on CKUT FM and we will be continuing to do so on our upcoming audio and video podcasts and whatever else we can do to beat the rock and roll drum for these musicians. Welcome to our rock and roll adventure. We hope you enjoy the ride.
The preferred format to submit your music to The Rock and Roll Report is by Sonicbids. Sonicbids is the standard way for music industry professionals to send and receive press kits online.
